KM/M
(Kilometre per Memory)Wed Jul 19 2022
In Korea, there is a phrase that in your teens, life feels like moving 10km, twenties in 20km, 30s in 30km, and so on. It’s often said that the speed of life seems to accelerate with age. This is because of the accumulated memories. The more you are experienced in life, the more repetitive moments will be, which will no longer be in recollection but fade. The ratio of total memories to the total time lived decreases, making life feel faster. That is why it’s important to create meaningful memories, no matter the speed of life.
In a world that values speed and efficiency, how about taking a moment to forget the flow of time, sit quietly, and place the most meaningful memory of your day in a chair? One day, when I look back on my life, the chair that always stayed in its place will bring the scattered memories vividly back to life.
